Context
Greenfield-to-brownfield transition on an active producing asset in Arctic conditions.
Role
Led Pre-FEED and FEED, then supported detailed engineering as Project Engineer / PMO, including construction and pre-start-up readiness assessments.
Challenge
New facilities had to be tied into live production in a remote Arctic environment. Civil works were possible only in winter, so a month's slip in design approval risked a one-year deferral, and survey data and key tie-in areas were split across several FEED contractors.
Action
- Coordinated engineering disciplines through Pre-FEED and FEED.
- On my own initiative ran an integrated review of key FEED documents and found a mismatch at the export pipeline and central processing facility tie-in point.
- Brought the contractors and stakeholders together, set roles, responsibility zones and a short correction plan across FEED and detailed design; the changes were aligned within a week.
- Led risk management and change control during execution preparation.
Result
FEED documentation submitted to state expert review on time with no interface findings, and the construction permit secured on schedule. Facilities integrated without production disruption on a $300M+ programme.
